What Is Fan Tan?

Fan Tan is an older card game, where players try to be the first ever to lose most of their cards without even picking up cards from the discard pile. The original four sevens are generally the only cards which can be lost at all; after the seven at a lawsuit is taken, both & eight could subsequently be played, followed by the A (non and K (exceptionally high), last but not least, after this, the tenth & final digit may be used. The player with counters at the end of the match wins.

This simple game was favored by Chinese emperors and nobility throughout the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. The reason the sevens were selected is because it enabled them to indicate off their riches by adding to or removing from their card holdings. They believed that the card having the most sevens are their most valuable. Some went so far as to write their whole fortune onto the card.

1 player will discard three cards out of their hand. Subsequently one other player will draw from the cover of the deck, choosing three cards from the discard pile. The player will deal out five cards to their four players. The other player now has to arrange the discard pile in the identical order as the deck, with their Fan Tan selection, so that each player has at least three cards to play . The brand newest pile includes seven cards into the second player, five into the third, four to four fourththree into the fifthtwo into the sixth, and one card into the seventh player.
